Remove people from a photo

A stranger in the background of a holiday shot is one of the most common things people want gone. Brush over them — and their shadow — and the AI rebuilds that area from the surrounding scene.

Remove a person

In short

  • Brush over the person and their shadow or reflection.
  • Use the eraser, undo and zoom to refine the selection.
  • The replacement is generated, not the real scene behind them.
  • New accounts get 3 welcome credits — enough for one removal.

Paint the full footprint

Include shadows, reflections in windows or water, and anything the person is holding. Leftover shadows are the most common giveaway.

Refine before removing

  • Zoom in and use a small brush near edges.
  • Use the eraser to give back areas you painted by mistake.
  • On a phone, paint with one finger and use Move to pan.

Check the result

Inspect repeating textures, straight lines such as railings and horizons, and the edges of the repaired area. Never present an altered photo as unedited evidence.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to describe the person?

No. The painted selection is the main control.

What image sizes work?

JPG, PNG or WebP up to 20 MB and 32 megapixels; the working canvas is 256–1536 pixels per side, and images wider or taller than 6:1 need cropping first.
